Visits

Study visits are one of the elements of promoting Polish culture abroad. They are available to persons and institutions involved in popularising Polish culture, science and language in their own countries, who would like to gain more in-depth knowledge of a selected field and to establish cooperation with Polish cultural institutions.

The Adam Mickiewicz Institute organizes study visits related to ongoing promotional projects or commissioned by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Guests who come to Poland on these visits include politicians, parliamentarians, journalists, reporters, representatives of opinion-forming circles, artists, and cultural animators - music managers, theatre managers, directors, curators, writers. The themes of the visits are very diverse. Before Poland's European Union accession, issues related to the accession process dominated, while today the visits primarily serve to establish closer cooperation.

Each visit is prepared in accordance with the profile of the invited guests' interests. The Institute's staff prepare the visit programme, handle its implementation, and supervise the visit with regard to its subject matter.

To date, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute has organized study visits, whose participants included guests from such countries as: China, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, the United States, Grait Britain, France, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Israel, Russia, Egypt, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine. The visits resulted in numerous press publications in the guests' home countries, radio and television programmes, a film about Poland and its cultural heritage, and in more active cooperation between many cultural and economic institutions.
