Exhibition 'Good Night and Bad Luck'

Several leading lights of the Polish and Israeli art scenes explore one of the most difficult subjects: fear and the darker aspects of human existence. The exhibition is being produced in cooperation between Arsenał Gallery (Bialystok) and Artists' House (Tel Aviv).

The list of participating artists includes: Dominik Lejman, Hubert Czerepok, Marek Wasilewski as well as Liliana Orbach, Vered Nissim, Noa Sadka.

about the exhibition:

Media and other forms of visual culture depict death, destruction, war, accidents and all kinds of catastrophe – but they do so as part of a slightly surreal, never-ending media show on a grand scale. "Good Night and Bad Luck" takes the opposite tack: it explores the trauma of fear and anxiety as faced by the individual. The artists will examine the source of these phenomenon in society as well as the attitude of art towards these intriguing and difficult issues.

Opening: 5.03.2009, time: 18.00
Meeting with the artists: 6.03.2009, time: 11.30
Exhibition: 5–26.03.2009
Artists’ House, Tel Aviv

Project co-organized by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute as part of the Polish Year in Israel 2008/2009.
