Mariusz Smolinski Trio played jazz concerts in: Vyborg (5 July) and St. Petersburg (6 July, Jazz Philharmonic).

Mariusz Smolinski

Mariusz Smolinski is a pianist from the Jazz society of Gorzow and Zielona Gora. Student at the Music Academy in Wroclaw, co-founder of the Conception group which received a number of awards at jazz festivals and competitions:

  • 1st award at the 9th National Review of Young Jazz and Blues Bands (Gdynia 2006).
  • 1st award at the 2nd Fryderyk Chopin Students’ Instrumental Competition (Zielona Gora 2006).
  • Winner of the "Key to the career" ["Klucz do Kariery"] at the 32nd Jazz Autumn (Gorzow Wielkopolski 2006).
  • 2nd Award at the 30th Jazz Juniors Festivals (Krakow 2006).
  • Best Band Award at the 2nd International Bucharest Jazz Competition (2008).
  • Honorable Mention at the Novum Jazz Festival – New Hope of Jazz (Lomza 2008).
Currently Mariusz Smolinski also performs with his trio (Mariusz Smolinski Trio) along with Pawel Czarka (bass) and Karol Gola (saxophone).

The concert was a part of the Polish Season in Russia 2008 "Poland-Russia. Dialogue of Cultures".
